i feel like i’ve only just fired this thing up, and i’m abandoning my post again - i’ll be out of the country and hopefully a long way from a computer for the next five weeks, catching up with some great friends in some exotic locales over christmas and new years. you can expect blog action to return late january 2007, where hopefully i’ll have some news on whats in store for faux pas in the new year.

everyone likes to do an end of year wrap up and write lists this year, but i’m going to fight the urge. actually no, i can’t fight it, here’s some things i liked this year that you should check out while i’m gone: hot chip (record of the year for me and millions of others no doubt) & grecoroman (check out this mix), homelife, the beck guerolito remix record, jackson and his computer band (revelatory!!!), nick huggins, skeletons and basically everything on ghostly international, the new cornelius record (don’t ever miss a cornelius show if he comes to your town), the older & wiser mix from douglas, j dilla’s donuts, tunng, fujiya & miyagi, the emergent compilation from cyclic defrost, ‘colorado’ by grizzly bear..

i didn’t get through as much music this year as i would have liked with all the travel i did, so if there’s anything i missed from 2006 let me know about it and i’ll check it out when i get back. when this blog fires up again i will continue to point towards things that i like, stab at things that i don’t like (though i don’t really do that much) and compare tv hosts to muppets. ho ho ho!
