faux pas, music

so i’m in london. the last five weeks have been a blast - berlin, bratislava, budapest, bruges were all highlights. and thats just the ‘b’ cities! met a lot of really friendly people and learnt a lot of that history stuff. did you know that there were actual real life communists? woah. and holy shit - did you realise that the czech republic and hungary have been invaded by, like, everyone? yeah.

well i could talk for much longer about things like this, but there is only room on this website for one form of self-indulgence, so let me get to it, the usual intermittent round-up of faux pas related happenings. its great to see that the album is still getting around to fresh ears even when i’m out of the country. thanks to everyone, australians and otherwise, who have been ordering cds and sending me messages. its cool.

the people at australia’s best electronic music magazine cyclic defrost together with tim ritchie from radio national’s sound quality program have selected a faux pas track - “dorothy’s finger” - to feature on an upcoming compilation of australian leftfield and experimental music that will be distributed with the next issue of cyclic defrost. you can find out more at the cyclic defrost blog. if you aren’t familiar with cyclic defrost then you should quickly become familiar with it, they write consistently well about consistently interesting music. the next issue will incidentally feature a review of entropy begins at home, which you can catch a sneak preview of here. its brief and it uses the words “hot” and “fun”.

in other news, i’m going to add some fresh tracks to the mp3 section here - its about time i did - including a gotye remix that i was working on before i left. all i’ve really done to his track is strip out most of what was originally good about it, and then chuck in slabs of other songs that i like in an awkward fashion. woo! anyone else want their songs destroyed?
